Star Ledger: School agency's meals, travel bills in state senator's crosshairs

For more than two and a half years, the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group spent lavishly on meals, conventions and retirement parties. Here are a few examples of the questionable spending.


A member of the state Senate budget committee wants the head of a government agency to testify before his committee after reports oflavish spending of taxpayer dollars.

Republican State Sen. Kevin O'Toole requested the hearing after NJ Advance Media reported last week that the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group spent tens of thousands of dollars on food, booze, travel, and other questionable expenses over a 2 1/2 year period.
